@citizentvkenya@SamGituku Fred “Flinstone” Matiangi presided over the worst period in Kenya’s history in terms of human rights abuses extra judicial killings and forced disappearances. Kenyans are very quick to forget
Ever wondered how lines drawn on a map over a century ago still fuel wars and divisions today? Look at the Tutsi in #Goma, #DRC: a community rooted in the region for generations yet are treated like outsiders.
Many are accused of allegiance to #Rwanda, face discrimination, and are told to “go back,” even though the land they occupy is theirs.
Here in Kenya, our Somalis share a similar struggle. Their loyalty is constantly questioned because colonial borders split them from Somalia. Decades of neglect, profiling, and accusations have left them marginalized in a country they call home. Remember the secessionist Shifta War (1963–1967), when some Kenyan Somalis advocated for joining Somalia?
Though the (Kenyan Somalis) case is milder and more tied to historical grievances and constant threats of terrorism linked to Somalia, this is how colonialism tore communities apart, forcing nations to grapple with divided identities. When is the best time to address these injustices, unite people, and respect diversity?
@AyubAbdikadir
Please ask about the missing Wajir MCA. The same people who abducted and released these must be responsible. The media has gone silent and North Easterners are not demonstrating
@gabrieloguda Where’s the DELA WARD MCA from Wajir. Why has his story died from the media? Why aren’t the people of Wajir not on the streets demanding his release
@city_digest We need to change the driving culture in Kenya. Mtu Ako na makosa, wasting other people's time and is still feeling entitled to even argue? Angechapwa sawa sawa.
Some STUPID Kenyans will say Kenya is not a country that gives its citizens opportunities to dream, to grow, to make money, and to achieve the impossible. Look at Dr. Fred Matiang'i...few years ago he was a struggling Literature Lecturer at Kenyatta University teaching themes on books like Chinua Achebe's "Things fall apart" and Grace Ogot's "Land Without Thunder" earning a measly salary of about Kshs 40k a month...then Uhuru Kenyatta "blessed him..."trained him and showed him the way". Today, he is thinking of running a world class campaign to become your next president and is willing to bankroll his campaign with his "own" billions...and then some Kenyans will cry "ati Kenya akuna opportunities"...The opportunities are there in plenty... good people...join goverment and help yourself and your family...GO/START STEALING...Stop being poor. Go steal from your country and loot it. Everybody does it (CSs, PSs, MPs, Senators, Judges, Parastatals heads, governors...) Why not you?
I am not a big fan of Riggy G, but what he is being accused of is the standard modus operandi of almost every Kenyan politician or executive in power. Arrogance, looting of public funds, uta do attitude, impunity. I don't think Riggy G even makes the top 6. He is mid table!
