@AvsRobin Winning it all in these years when you should win makes those awful years easier to swallow. Just like the previous era, the unsuccessful runs in a Cup window will be stains on the franchise history. Especially this year.
There needs to be big time change to this franchise to move on. They were choke artists until they won it in ‘22, and then regressed back to choke artists since then. Don’t know how you see it any different. I love Bednar but they need a new voice in that room if they want to win
@LoveYourGoalie@LucaCelebre21 Sorry man, not sure what your defense of Wedgewood is on this specific goal. I agree the defense has broken down in front of him, but this goal specifically starts with him. He turns an easy blocker to the corner and instead throws it directly into harms way.
@BlaisHunter Not a smart post here, watch the whole sequence, Malinski is racing to get back and 16 from VGK is driving the net. If he attacks Eichel, eichel can easily slide it to 16 for unattested route to the net. It’s not a simple as this freeze frame showing him out of position
@RajOnRadio Need one of VGK’s mistakes to go in, that’s how it’s gonna happen. Almost feels like Avs gotta be absolutely perfect the rest of the way to win this thing
Avs go into 3rd up 1-0 in Game 2, but VGK’s ability to get a stick on literally every pass/shot is the clear difference between these 2 teams right now.
Also, Hart played amazing last night and it could be argued he was the difference maker in that game. The goal moving forward will be to get more pucks to the net with traffic for tips and rebounds. It’s been said in every series so far, stop overpassing and be direct.
Look, no need to panic or start throwing out “must win” or “do or die” statements, but Game 2 is a pivotal point in this run. You’ve gotta find a way to squeeze that win out, no matter what. You go down 2-0 to Vegas, going back to Vegas, it’s a tall task to come back this series
Panic level after Game 1 is like no panic. This Vegas team isn’t close to as dangerous as the Wild offensively.
If the Avs cut out some mistakes, they’ll control this series
This game isn’t going to make you feel great if you’re an Avs fan. Gonna walk away from this game feeling like you played well enough to win, but 1 tough goal given up by Wedgewood, a PP goal from an unreal assist from Marner, and a 2on1 goal off a blocked shot. Oh and Hart…
Bouchard lead Team Canada in TOI for the 3rd consecutive game as Canada took down Denmark 5-1. He recorded a +4 and still has yet to be on ice for a GA
Nurse was 2nd in icetime, meaning Bouchard played 6:04 minutes more than the next non-Oiler
He’s a LOCK for the 2030 Olympics
Listen, the Avs have a legitimate challenge in VGK. Injuries will play a role on both sides. But why are you worried about it? You don’t even know if you’re playing Montreal or Buffalo yet?
Obviously Colorado is a hell of a team, but you can’t keep calling out Carolina’s “cupcake” walk through the playoffs and then ignore the Avs playing:
The 8th seed LA
A Wild team minus Ek and Brodin
The winner of the worst NHL division
Evan Bouchard led Team Canada today in icetime in his first international game since the World Juniors
He was very good in his minutes. Looks like he’s got a chip on his shoulder #LetsGoOilers
