One of the coolest books I’ve read, and here’s why:
1. It’s PURE GOLD for CPG founders
2. It is a graphic novel
3. It has detailed journey of Honest Tea brand growth
Thanks @willnitze for mentioning it on one of the podcasts and @HonestSeth, @BarryNalebuff for writing it!
Spotlight: @PLNTBurger, Led by CEO Chris Treloar and Board Chair @HonestSeth (also @justicetea__ and @BeyondMeat), is working to transform the $772 billion fast food industry with a growing chain of 13 locations, including innovative Whole Foods Market kiosks. Having achieved over $11.2 million in sales in 2023, with all operating locations profitable year-to-date in 2024 through September, they have grown when other plant-based companies have shrunk in recent years.
Now, they’re ready to go to the next level with a crowdfunding campaign at https://t.co/PCwNzLbVVY.
What do you think about the future of plant-based food companies? And have you tried PLNT Burger yet?
@Wpaul_JC @Inc@CapitalOneBiz@arbowe I hope you have discovered @justicetea__ - it is made by the same people who created Honest Tea, and is now available nationwide!
love seeing this story unfold @JonnyNemo ... the only thing I disagree with is the phrase at the end of the video "the end"... you guys and @sweetgreen have so more salads and impact to make!
17 years ago today, we opened our first @sweetgreen restaurant in Georgetown, DC in a tiny 560 sq ft building off campus right after graduation. The idea was simple, but big: to redefine fast food.
We served a few hundred customers and played Robot Rock by Daft Punk as our first song.
Today we operate over 230 restaurants in over 20 states, and serve millions of customers.
Thank you to our devoted customers, farmers, partner suppliers and dedicated team members - past and present- for being a crucial part of this journey and helping us advance the Sweetgreen mission of connecting people to real food!
We are just getting started!
Here is some footage from the early days
Last week we sent 13 team members on a crew drive in the Hamptons of Long Island, NY. It’s one of the most influential markets for bottled tea. We opened dozens of accounts, reset shelves and displays to support our longtime distribution partner, @BigGeyserInc.
So glad to celebrate our amazing team in the latest issue of @BeverageInd. This photo captures the spirit and joy that goes into what we are building. Thanks @BeverageInd and Jessica Jacobsen for sharing our story.

@beachfemme thanks! Not planning to do the larger bottles for @justicetea__ at this time because we are avoiding plastic containers. But we have just launched 4-packs of cans so people can enjoy more tea at home. They are carried nationally at @sproutsfm

@Clean_Lantern and I had fun digging deep into the role running played in my life and career. Ok, maybe we went a bit too deep, but runners will understand.

The impact of our food system needs to change on so many levels – especially with respect to health and environmental impacts. @maisiegreen's new book gets under the hood and shares stories of inspiration and frustration that we all need to hear and learn from.
