🇷🇺🇨🇳 Blagoveshchensk and Heihe just hosted the Russian-Chinese Culture and Arts Fair — one of the most significant joint cultural events between the two nations.

The celebration featured the legendary Lyudmila Zykina State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble “Rossiya,” along with concerts, exhibitions, master classes, and thousands of spectators from both sides. The Heilongjiang Peking Opera Theater performances drew particular acclaim.

The fair is part of a much larger shift in the Russian Far East. The Amur region already hosts over 200 joint events with China annually, including AmurExpo, which brings together 150+ companies and 10,000 visitors. Chinese tourist numbers hit 110,000 in 2025 and are set to double this year. Infrastructure is keeping pace: Blagoveshchensk’s new airport terminal (which crossed 1 million passengers for the first time in 2025) is built to handle over 2 million annually. A transborder cable car will connect the two cities across the Amur in under three minutes, and a “Golden Mile” development zone with high-end hotels and an expo center is slated for 2028. Even menus and navigation are now adapted for Asian visitors.

Cultural exchange and practical cooperation between Russia and China are deepening across the Eurasian space.
