요즘 Kaggle에서 하는 포켓몬 TCG AI 배틀 챌린지에 나가는 중입니다. 포켓몬 카드게임을 자동으로 플레이하는 봇 만드는 대회인데, 이걸 Claude(AI)랑 같이 만들고 있어요.

제가 개발자는 아니잖아요. 코드 짜는 건 잘 모르지만, 대신 포켓몬 TCG는 좀 알죠. 어떤 덱이 센지, 이 매치업이 왜 유리한지, 이 플레이가 왜 패착인지 — 그런 건 보이니까.

그래서 그냥 제가 "이건 이래서 이렇게 둬야 돼" 하고 말하면, 코드는 Claude가 짜는 식이거든요.

봇이 둔 게임 리플레이를 돌려보다 이상한 수가 보이면 짚어줍니다. "여기서 벤치에 있는 애 앞으로 빼서 때렸으면 잡았잖아, 왜 안 했어?" 하면, Claude가 코드를 뒤져서 "에너지를 엉뚱한 데 붙여서 후퇴가 막혔네요" 하고 원인을 찾아 고쳐주죠. 평소에 같이 리플레이 보면서 "여기 이렇게 했어야지" 하는 거랑 똑같습니다. 그걸 그대로 코드로 옮겨주는 셈이고.

머릿속에 있는 걸 말로만 풀어도 진짜 돌아가는 봇이 된다는 게 좀 신기하더라고요.

근데 무엇보다, AI랑 진짜 팀처럼 같이 뭔가를 만들어가는 감각이 꽤 즐겁습니다. 제가 방향을 잡으면 Claude가 구현하고, 또 같이 들여다보며 고치고 — 그렇게 다듬을 때마다 봇이 실제로 나아지고 승률이 오르는 걸 보는 재미가 은근히 쏠쏠하더라고요.

아직 만드는 중이라 갈 길은 남았지만, 어느 정도 완성되면 실제로 제출해보려 합니다. 내 봇이 레더에서 다른 봇들이랑 붙어 어디까지 갈지 벌써 궁금하네요.
