Today is a very dark day for our country. I am safe thanks to the protection and swift action by our law enforcement officials. Our Founding Fathers warned against mob rule. Law and order must be established and maintained.

Hope our leaders stay safe and can execute their Constitutional responsibilities

There has been a breach of the Capitol building. We are locked inside the House chamber until Capitol Police allows us to leave. Praying that this chaos dissipates and no one gets hurt 🙏🏾

Clearly @StateFarm is running effective ads during @GMA My 7 yo watched this morning. When we came across a car accident, she recited the ad

You can take the girls out of the newsroom... so fun having my friend @honoragtv guest speak to my classes today about the world of nonprofit PR and journalism. They are going to love seeing her passion for the craft! Thanks so much! #mc200 #mc305 #phdlife #academictwitter

[Honora Gathings @HonoraGTV]

@DanielleDeavour Thank you so much for the chat. So much fun to catch up and see you in your element. Can’t wait to see all you accomplish in the world of academia

Bessemer also has a curfew. I expect more cities will put similar measures in place.

[Honora Gathings @HonoraGTV]

Mountain Brook joins Birmingham in putting a curfew from 7 pm to 6 am in place.

@RobinsonCarol Happy to have you, your reporter pad and pen back right now to help tell these important stories

[Honora Gathings @HonoraGTV]

@hilarywperry Media should serve as our impartial eyes and ears on events. Sometimes emotions get misplaced. A crime victim’s daughter tried hitting me with a car years ago while I was covering a story. It shouldn’t happen but it does. So glad to hear that everyone is okay.

[Honora Gathings @HonoraGTV]

Prayers for all of my media friends in Bham. Terrifying to see feeds go down after a former colleague was mugged, newspaper friend attacked and another tv photographer working with a damaged camera. They are just doing their jobs- unbiased. #birminghamprotest

@WarOnDumb Please let us know if @MadisonU is okay
