@StephenM I wonder if Miller has considered the that Congressional districts aren’t drawn in REGIONS, but are in STATES — and 1 New England state has only 1 district and can’t be gerrymandered. Several have 2 districts, so gerrymandering might be non-issue if the states are Dem-leaning.
@htx_bxn@NCAA Wofford used to play in a gym about like that. Very fun place to watch games. And @WoffordMBB had some outstanding teams in that gym. Champions.
Woffod’s new arena is, however, a major upgrade and a deluxe mid-major venue.

@JayBilas@terenthial A look at how mid-majors, which are an important part of college sports but don’t have power conference resources, are being affected.

@notthefakeSVP@SethDavisHoops A look at how all this is affecting the schools and basketball programs that don’t have massive NIL budgets, but do have fan interest and rich traditions.

Lots of attention on this discussion today. Folks seem to think @JayBilas had upper hand. And could be. But does his logic apply to mid-majors, where coaches get paid well but not all near 7 figures, schools don’t see massive revenue, & rosters are nearly eradicated each year?
@SVPanther1@WinterSportsLaw I’m not sure that I see how they would be restricted unfairly. Regular students can attend class and go to parties if they transfer. But wouldn’t athletes be able to as well. The only restriction would be about sports — not the things that other students can do. Right?
That is Greg O’Dell. He was a D2 WoCo guy — and outrageously good at basketball. If it’d been transfer/NIL times, he’d likely have had the chance to move over to ACC or SEC. Instead, he was PBK at Wofford, very successful career, now a WoCo trustee. Interesting how things can go.
