@CrimsonCast That's why I'm confused on what legal basis TT could sue other schools or conferences even the B12? Even if TT claimed that those other parties were preventing them from complying with the TI, they're not part of the TI.
@TreyWallace Penn State also got punished, whereas TT didn't. While I agree there's alot of athlete conduct that has gone unpunished recently and historically, Cody continues to be really dishonest in his takes
@chris_kratovil@dennisdoddcbs How would this apply to schools or conferences outside of Texas? I guess I don't really understand why other schools or entities are held by TI when they're not parties to it. Obviously not a lawyer.
Here’s 75,000 Indiana fans traveling 8 hours to Atlanta to break a stadium decibel record of a stadium that’s not even theirs
But yeah we have no passion
@Ritter_1414@kylamb8@bmarcello@ShehanJeyarajah Legally, TT likely retains some authority to discipline or dismiss him for independent reasons, but removing him because of the gambling conduct that the court has already addressed would risk another court fight.
@bmarcello I think this one is always the key. In the end it comes down to money, if people stop betting on college football because of this or even all TT games you bet your ass the sports betting companies will leverage their immense influence here
I'm seeing exaggerated takes on the legal impact of a trial judge's ruling in Sorsby v. NCAA. This is not the 9th Circuit in O'Bannon v. NCAA, or SCOTUS in NCAA v. Alston. This case doesn't set precedent for other courts or athletes. It's a non-final order by a state court judge.
@BenjaminGolan No people are upset that you have a clear rule and moral issue here that was broken and Sorsby and TT are exploiting the a sympathetic and local judicial system to get around it.
