Liza's voice carried the deeply emotional/firm/rational scenes of Raissa, especially towards the end.
Her voice -acting range in Forgotten Island is awesome.

Hollywood keeps making the same mistake with representation: assuming a story becomes universal only after its identity is removed.
Forgotten Island seems to be doing the opposite.
It doesn't hide its Filipino folklore to make the story easier for everyone else to understand. It builds the story around something much simpler: two friends who are terrified of losing the memories that made them who they are.
The culture gives the story its identity.
The friendship gives everyone a way into it.
That's probably the part Hollywood should have understood years ago: audiences don't need a story to look like their lives before they can care about it.
