Unapologetic God fearing mother and a YAYA. Born and raised in New Orleans,LA. Sharing my journey through healing, self discovery and embracing my purpose!
my therapist told me this and it hit me: “healing is so hard because it is a constant battle between your inner child who is scared and just wants safety.... your inner teenager who is angry and just wants justice.... and your current self-who is tired and just wants peace."
Focus on your little family; nothing else matters. The outside noise will always be loud, but peace lives under your own roof. Protect what you're building, because that's your real legacy.
I truly sense that this is a season of restoration for many people.
Not just the restoration of lost time or material things, but the restoration of our souls! The restoration of our fire, our hunger, and our passion for God and His Kingdom.
So many of us have slipped into routines. We still show up, we still do the motions, but the fire isn’t as intense as it once was. And God is saying, “Come back to how it was when you first met Me.”
Come back to that place of pure hunger. That place where you longed to dwell in His presence not to ask for things, but simply to know Him. To seek His face.
The place where He meets the weakest of men and turns them into strong men. The place where flesh dies and intimacy begins.
Just dwelling daily in His presence until your gaze is fixed only on Him.
Until He becomes your desire.
Until He becomes your pursuit.
This is a season of coming back.
And in coming back, we are being restored.
You promised yourself you was going to move different this year. Don’t forget that. Don’t let old habits, old situations, or old patterns pull you back into the same stuff you said you was done with. Stay locked in on what you said you wanted and stand on it.
I was cooking dinner and the saying, “Heavy is the head that wears the crown,” came to me. It reminded me of the Bible verse, “To whom much is given, much is required.” It may feel heavy at times, but you were called for whatever it is God is calling you to do. You got this.
the beautiful thing about life is we can always hit reset. I took a shower, made some tea, forgave myself for my mistakes, made a new plan, prayed & tomorrow I will start fresh, you can too
I told my therapist:
“I’m not suicidal…
but I’m tired in a way that scares me.”
She didn’t brush it off.
She didn’t say “everyone gets tired.”
She didn’t tell me to think positive.
She said softly:
I truly love the Holy Spirit so much. I love how he loves me, teaches me, orders my steps, corrects me, guides me. The more I get to know him, the more in awe I am.
One of the greatest cheat codes in life is assuming everything is happening in your favor. Lost the deal? You learned a lesson. Someone broke up with you? You dodged a bullet. When you start seeing life as happening FOR you instead of TO you your life will change.
God is telling you today:
I know sometimes you think I don’t hear your prayers. I hear everything. I see everything. I know who hurt you. I know who isn’t good for you. I know you’ve been trying to heal. I know you’ve been praying for better circumstances. I am not ignoring you. I am working on a better path for your life. Your prayers aren’t always answered the way you expect, but I always deliver what you need. I always answer. Sometimes the answer is no or not yet. Be patient and trust my divine timing. I have beautiful plans for you. I love you, and I will always have your back.
