PIVOT TO SIMPLY, RIGHT HERE. There really is a LOWER JAMES RIVER & IT IS ALL IMPAIRED. THE WHOLE RIVER and ALL its HISTORIC BELOVED tributaries, MATTER.
When we think of national parks or public lands, we often imagine pristine, untouched environments. But this perspective is problematic because it erases their violent history. https://t.co/9hgPeDpVqS

Guess what happens when the whole community is left out of the problem-solution discussion? Not directed at CBF.
6 straight years of community members asking for Fed, State, and Local govt in VA to collaborate with the direct community. ZERO. THAT IS VIRGINIA.
Takes a Village!
"Nutrient runoff from farmland—manure and fertilizer—is the largest source of water quality problems in the Chesapeake Bay and many of its rivers."

@HopeFloatsVA Grand Experiment (sp).
One, the Authority to EXIST as an "incorporated City" comes from the VOTERS & GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
If "entities" can be emboldened to overrun our #cleanwater & communities BY THE STATE, then the "STATE" CAN ALSO act for all VIRGINIANS here, now!
@HopeFloatsVA Also noting the #ChuckatuckCreek, which, in fact, HAD been listed as PROTECTED in Virginia, removed on the Constitution effective July 1, 1971. Bizarre. Lower #JamesRiver Watetshed "receives" the end point impacts of the WHOLE #watershed. Where is the commisserate inclusion?

A long-standing issue in #Virginia:
The HISTORIC #NansemondRiver is treated, not as an impaired River w/ specific #Health#Impacts, but as an honorable mention in the #JamesRiverWatershed. Eons of NOT having a WIP for the Nansemond River continue, can we say #EJ?
Tributaries of the James River:
Chickahominy River
Craig Creek
Jackson River
Maury River
Warwick River
Appomattox River
Cowpasture River
#NansemondRiver#PaganRiver
If listed as an #impairedwaterway then it MUST BE listed as a #tributary in all references to the #JamesRiver!
ESTUARY...
If you would not put it in your backyard where you relax, children or pets play...
It does not go on the ground or worse, onto the street or into a stormdrain...
Thank you for caring!
Must say, good read. Now, to add to this, every Community that has active farms, loves their farmers. Focus on all the opportunities, all of the opportunities in each sub-watershed...
Most Communities, have little to no idea that there is a Watershed Improvement Plan at hand. 💡
