The three day workshop included walking part of the Ein Samia trail, counselling, art therapy sessions, film nights, team building exercises, as well as learning about the history of Palestinian activism and the role women have played in community work. #HopingforPalestine
Children in refugee camps in the West Bank are growing up under military occupation & regularly exposed to violence. HOPING was asked to fund a workshop for 40 kids in camps around Ramallah who carry the trauma of witnessing brutal force, the death of a friend or family member.
Children attend UNRWA run schools that are severely overcrowded, so it is difficult for young refugees to get the learning support they need. HOPING sponsors educational activities in the camp to help children study, learn, and realise their true potential. #HopingforPalestine
HOPING supports community centres working with kids in Balata refugee camp in occupied Palestine. Balata is the most densely populated camp in the West Bank.
Last year alone, three members of the rugby club were awarded international scholarships, as well as others receiving educational bursaries in Lebanon. #HopingforPalestine#Palestinianrefugees
Palestinian refugee children grow up disenfranchised from Lebanese society, many drop out of school because they are hopeless about their future. Rugby has proved hugely successful in giving kids a focus & sense of purpose, encouraging them to stay engaged with education
HOPING has renewed its commitment to support a rugby club for Palestinian refugee children in camps across Lebanon. It is a hugely popular sport that gives kids the chance to release energy creatively, develop self-confidence and have fun with their friends. #HopingforPalestine
This summer we funded holiday clubs for kids in Tulkarm refugee camp in the north of the occupied West Bank. Activities included recreational trips outside of the camp, traditional games and clown shows. #HopingforPalestine#Palestine#Palestinianrefugees
We funded drama & puppet-making classes in Palestinian refugee camps near Hebron for kids dealing with the trauma of growing up under military occupation. The classes were joyful & empowering, providing a platform for kids to discover talents, express themselves & feel energised.
Askar is one of the most densely populated refugee camps; shelters are built very close to one another, leaving no space for any recreational activities. The Football Academy is a safe environment where kids can develop their talents, overcome stress & have fun with their friends
HOPING provided a grant to expand the Football Academy in Askar refugee camp in the occupied West Bank to enable 70 Palestinian refugee children to join. The funds covered purchasing kit, footballs, cones and extra coaches.
In response to the on-going electricity crisis in Lebanon, HOPING funded solar panels to be installed at the community centre in Ein el Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp. With its own source of electricity, the centre can run their clubs for hundreds of children throughout the year

For Palestinian refugee children growing up in overcrowded camps, the local community centre is a safe space where they can play with their friends. It can be hard for a centre to cover core costs, such as rent. We give grants towards these bills, to help keep their doors open.
