@ImmaculateView Everybody being 4 or 5 games away from a title after already playing a full 12-game calendar is just absurd. The 24th-ranked team in the country has already proven they haven’t put together a national title campaign. It just shifts the stakes away from August-November to December
@ImmaculateView Have a mediocre season, earn a mediocre bowl.
Have a decent season, make a decent bowl.
Have a great season, make a NYD/BCS/NY6 bowl.
Expansionist stance - have a decent season, get to play for a national title anyways.
@On3 Braindead chuds would be pissing and moaning over this slate if it were Week 2. Slap some CFP logos on the field and it’s the best thing evaaaaarrrrrrrr
@drewdamn87@rcb05 Bama eliminated. Texas eliminated.
Three of yesterday’s losers are still #4-6 in the AP poll and have leeway left in a 12-team field.
Yesterday is even more dramatic at 4.
@AndrewFuery@BudElliott3 2024 Ohio State being knocked out of a 4-team field after losing a rivalry game as 20-point home favorites would’ve been great, actually.
@AriWasserman How far they go has zero relation to whether their regular season body of work was worth putting them there. What do you think when an 11 seed makes the Final Four? Does that follow the same logic? Maybe the whole season should just be a tournament.
@TheMaster_Plan_@CanesResearch This indicates there’s a (much longer) portion of the season where it doesn’t count, or counts less. Something to aspire to?
@CoreyLaJoie@NASCAR@keselowski NASCAR hasn’t been worth covering outside of the Daytona 500 at a national scale in years. That’s nobody’s fault but the sanctioning body’s.
