Last night, I attended a discussion on the dangers of fentanyl.

As someone who spends time on our streets talking with people struggling with fentanyl addiction, I wanted to listen, learn, and be part of the conversation.

The rise in fentanyl is fueling crime, addiction, and homelessness in Tucson and communities across our country. We cannot ignore what is happening or pretend it isn't connected to the flow of dangerous drugs coming across our southern border.

Our city—and our nation—need leaders who take this crisis seriously and are willing to have honest conversations about solutions. Right now, we're not seeing any of that.

It’s time for change.
