@MEdwardLewis1 I understand the argument here but I think there are reasonable expectations for when you should be working. Salaried employees should only have to work X number of hours in a week (in a normal work environment, at least). It shouldn't be used as an excuse to be on-call 24/7.
I've heard of at least 3 companies giving shout-outs to employees who missed the birth of their child to take a work call or trip.
Missing the most important moments of your life for work isn't a flex, it's just sad. And it's the company's fault for creating that culture.
@Raintree007@DanPriceSeattle The rich DO learn. That's why we see them pull the same stunts over and over ---> need yet another house? Plane? Boat? Maybach? Time to refill the coffers.
You know you’re a misogynist when you want to punish the Uber driver who drove the girl to the clinic more than you want to punish the uncle who raped the passenger.
Billionaires have gained $1.8 trillion in the pandemic.
How come when everyone talks about inflation they blame 50-cent raises for workers and not $1.8 trillion in stock value created out of thin air for billionaires?
@DrFeeelGoood@DanPriceSeattle Goddang clavicles!!! It's probably a good thing they had you take the photo down...nobody can resist a good clavicle...how were they supposed to help themselves???
@MrHoneyWayz No! Go do it!
*as long as you have time&money to spare and you're not putting off more important goals or using a new hobby to distract yourself from other possibly painful priorities. 👍
I don’t know who said this, but I want to amplify it because it is undeniable and insane. Please retweet.
WHEN WE WANT TO INCENTIVIZE RICH PEOPLE, WE GIVE THEM MONEY.
WHEN WE WANT TO INCENTIVIZE POOR PEOPLE, WE TAKE IT AWAY.
@joeygllghr My mother got a Bachelor’s degree in 1976. It cost $6,000. I got a Bachelor’s degree from the same school in 2006. It cost $150,000. Today, it costs $200,000. I’ve paid $28,000 on a $20k student loan from 2006. My balance is $22,000. My generation will NEVER dig out.
