Want to know why so many people with chronic illnesses have such a deep frustration for doctors and why we dread going to new ones?

I saw a new orthopedic today because I may have a torn labrum. When discussing my pain level, I told him how I’m pretty much used to it. I explained due to my illnesses that I am basically always in pain.

His response? He rolled his eyes and said no one can be in that amount of pain.

This is why it takes us so long to find trustworthy doctors, when we open up and truthful, we are met with dismissal or disbelief. It chips away at our trust in the system.

We don’t hate doctors. We hate what it feels like to be constantly gaslit by the very people who are supposed to help us.
