I get where you’re coming from, but I still see Musk as someone who’s trying to do big things, even if a lot of it is driven by his ego. Like, yeah, he probably wants his name in the history books, but that doesn’t mean stuff like Tesla or SpaceX isn’t genuinely pushing humanity forward. I mean, reusable rockets and making EVs mainstream? That’s not nothing.

About Twitter, I don’t think it’s as simple as “left-leaning to right-leaning.” Sure, it’s different now, and you’re right that bias hasn’t disappeared, but I’d argue it feels more open than before—at least for now. I’ll admit, though, knowing left-leaning accounts are loseing reach or demonetization issues sucks. If that’s happening because of political disagreements, it’s definitely hypocritical for a “free speech platform.” But honestly, isn’t this all kind of part of figuring out how to manage something this huge and messy?

The financial stuff does make me a little uneasy. Turning Twitter into a bank? That’s wild. If people are already worried about being punished for not agreeing with Musk, it’s not hard to imagine how much worse it could get if your money is tied to the platform. Still, I’d like to see how it plays out before writing it off completely. I personally hate my bank and would like some options.

At the end of the day, I still think Musk is a mix of ego, ambition, and genuine vision. He’s not a savior, but he’s not a complete villain either. There’s good and bad, and for me, the rockets alone make it interesting enough to keep watching. But hey, that’s just me—I love to give and happy to keep the convo going!

By the way, do you know of any other sources for the X algorithm? I’m gathering all open-source material to see what’s available.

As for this post, it seems to suggest that blocking negatively impacts your reach, rather than unverified followers. To me, it feels like the game hasn't fundamentally changed.

Here is how I see it.

If I were blocked by Elon, the only immediate consequence would be my inability to interact with his posts. The algorithm might perceive this as me being excluded from a broader group of 'Elon enjoyers' (coining that). My overall reach would be indirectly affected due to his significant influence within the platform, but it wouldn’t directly diminish my own impact in other areas. Blocking, then, simply removes the reach tied to that specific user, rather than having a broader negative effect.
