My kid did the same thing! She was reclusive, changing, just weird. We homeschool now and we’ve bonded back and have the best time! She’s also learned way more in the past 2 yrs. She has in the 6 yrs in public school! Take your child out! We went thru absolute meltdowns daily in car rider line daily til Dad said THATS IT!

We took our daughter out of 6th grade 2 yrs ago here in inner city TX!
We weren’t sure how our sweet girl became reclusive, political, smart mouthed, and combative daily 1st yr. Jr. high 😭 but we Gen X parents sure weren’t having it!

Took about 3 months but now we have bonded back as a family, actually like never before and school is so fun for her!

Our enrichment classes are the BEST:
She can properly cook,clean, mend/sew,drive a stick shift, forklift and 4 wheeler safely.

She’s the household bookkeeper and loves the responsibilities of mailing off bills/fills out checks-Mom signs ;) She does our budgeting->menu/grocery/shopping/shipping, gardening.

She picked softball for her sports activity & loves her social time with the other teammates! They slumber often!

Goes with Dad to work 2X a week-hands on at the diesel shop then to Moms insurance agency 2X a week dealing with the public. She has her own desk next to mine to do her school work and watch & learn from Mom :)

Best thing we ever did! Congrats to you & your Fam!
We STARR tested her last year and she scored 91% better than all of the districts of her peers in the great state of TX academically!

We not only got our kid back we made her way smarter in 2 yrs than anything she ever received in her 6 yrs in public school! Life skills! She wants to be a mechanic on 18 wheelers like her Dad :) but OWN the shop! Hope this ages well!
