I am opposition, but even in opposition, we must be smart, rational and grounded. Otherwise, we will remain oppressed forever while wasting our energy fighting the wrong battles.

So, when your favourite musician teams up with regime-leaning people to organise a show, it's perfectly fine and you happily support them. When Hon. Zaake exchanges friendly gestures with Hon. Tayebwa, it's fine. When Hon. Senyonyi smiles with the dictator, it's fine.

But suddenly, Vinka is where you draw the line?
Simply because she married an NRM MP?
What exactly do you want her to do? DIVORCE HER HUSBAND because he belongs to a different political party?

Let's be serious!

Uganda's problem is NOT Vinka. It is NOT King Saha. It is NOT Bebe Cool. It is NOT you or me.
Uganda's problem is the President and his family.
If we tried to uproot him during the recently concluded elections and failed, we shouldn't now turn around and start fighting useless wars against musicians, entertainers, spouses and ordinary citizens who have absolutely no power to change the direction of this country.

Should we now start investigating the political affiliations of the owners of your favourite bars, supermarkets, shops, salons, churches, hotels, schools, restaurants and buses?
Do you even know who they support?
Do you stop buying from them because of their political beliefs?

Some of you are directing your anger at people who can't even change the name of a road in Kampala, while the people who actually hold power are sitting comfortably and watching you fight among yourselves.
You know where the real problem is.
You know who holds the power.
You know who you should be confronting.
But because you fear them, you have chosen to lynch people who are accessible and powerless.

Please force your heads to think a little more mature

DEVELOPING: Two children have died after they were allegedly stabbed at a family home in Ggaba, Bunga-Kalungu, Kampala, early Thursday morning. The suspect, a Kenyan woman believed to be the children's mother, allegedly stabbed the children before locking herself in a room. One child died at the scene, while another died in hospital, according to the area chairperson. Neighbours were alerted by a car alarm at around 5am and found a vehicle on fire at the property. They forced their way into the locked house after hearing children crying and found the 17-year-old eldest daughter dead in her bed, while other children had sustained stab wounds. An injured child allegedly told neighbours that their mother had carried out the attack. The incident reportedly followed a domestic dispute between the woman and her husband on Wednesday. Police are on ground investigating the incident.
