Elon Musk’s $100M prize for carbon capture tech is like "Elon ex machina", tech that will drop out of the sky and save us from having to change anything. We know how to fix things, it’s just not convenient. CCS is SO convenient. https://t.co/cLfU55K9Le

@avc Love it! What is the HERS rating of your home without PV? Get the HERS as low as possible and you will downsize your HVAC equipment, usually the #1 energy consumer in a home. Make up the additional energy requirements with renewables.

3531 kWh/yr for this 37 gallon hot water tank... For some #perspective I used 3205 kWh all last year for all #heating #cooling and #ventilation energy. That is about 10% less to heat, cool and ventilate a #passivehouse than heat 37 gallons of hot water.

"By 2035, it will be more expensive to run 90% of gas plants being proposed in the U.S. than it will be to build new wind and solar farms equipped with storage systems"

@AndrewMichler Such short-sighted thinking, but oh-so-common!

“I think there’s misconception that almost all projects in U.S. are PHIUS,” said Lois Arena of ⁦@_SWinter⁩. “They’re about 50/50 on our projects. For a lot of other consultants I work with, it’s similar.” https://t.co/Fba0nvfdee

The @CityofVancouver voted to phase-out the use of fossil gas in buildings. Now the @CityofBerkeley has followed suit. Who’s next?

@testudioarch @StegoIndustries @TannerConstruct Beautiful detailing. Why did you opt for Stego (pricey) vs 6-10 mil poly?

[House So Green @HouseSoGreen]

@naphnetwork Would love to see the presentations. Will the slides be posted?

@MattRisinger @MieleUSA @MieleProf @Miele_Press @miele On a per-load basis, the bulk detergent containers (why can’t I refill myself?) may be slightly more expensive but great convenience! #mymielemoment

[House So Green @HouseSoGreen]

@MattRisinger @MieleUSA @MieleProf @Miele_Press We specified previous @Miele heat pump models for our NZE/LEED Platinum build in Miami, FL. Super quiet, no notable ambient exhaust heat, no lint, conserve energy/water and no hole in the air barrier! New models slightly less expensive, reasonably last 20 years. #mymielemoment
