I'm thinking of putting a large statue of Oliver Cromwell in my front garden. Apparently you don't need to worry anymore about planning applications or offending anyone, because we all have our own ways of "remembering the past". If it's ok to have a statue of Bobby Sands then I guess anything goes. If the Cromwell statue turns out well, then maybe I'll progress to a 'Black and Tans' memorial. I know I can rely upon the full support of Sinn Fein and various opinion piece writers in the local media, who have adopted a "let's make shit up as we go along" attitude to planning applications and "remembering the past". There's no need to worry about outrage because we are now in the age of tolerance and all opinions are merely subjective.
