I’m a huge fan of pastor Alistair Begg. But I think his counsel for Christians to attend “trans weddings” is bad counsel from good intentions. My hope is some other leaders around him can help him see the folly in that view.
Christians shouldn’t participate in celebrating something that fundamentally rejects God’s commands and denies His natural order.
As undesirable as it may be to have people judge you and speak all sorts of evil against you, Jesus told us to expect hatred from the world.
John 15:19 — “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

Incredibly proud of my son-in-law, @HoustonWood_ , for preaching his first sermon ever tonight. His exposition, illustration, and application of Luke 15 was powerful. Christ was magnified.

You can’t have millions of years of death and decay before Adam’s sin. Death and corruption entered the world through the one man’s sin.
Therefore, Adam and Eve would have been alive at the same time as the dinosaurs and all ancient creatures. The fossil record begins with Adam.
What a crazy thought! David’s faithfulness and dependence on God in this moment was a measure of God’s grace for David in his fight, for Israel in battle, and for us who are in Christ as it is through David we are given a Savior. Praise be to God who is meticulous and sovereign!
@Brsutton23@ErikReed The Gospel in the genealogies may be one of the greatest takeaways I have heard. Grateful to see God’s Word that much sweeter after today!
“God did not give us local churches to become country clubs where membership means we have privileges and perks. He placed us in churches to serve, care for others, pray for leaders, learn, teach, give, and to die for the sake of the gospel.” - Thom Rainer’s I Am a Church Member
