Allowing students to participate in activities that allow them to expand their knowledge of the diversity around them is very important - this can include giving them access to resources such as this brilliant @therealmemfox picture book about diversity in our county #UoNTeach
What a great explanation of inquiry-based learning - what it means, the inquiry process, why it works and where the idea came from. Definitely a must watch if you are confused about any part of this form of learning or are just after some more information.

Enquiry based learning involves students investigating what they find interesting. This very inspiring @TEDTalks discusses this concept. Definitely a must watch for all future teachers. #UoNTeach

@Jessica87693519@TeachThought Here is the link to the @TEDTalks Jenna has suggested https://t.co/PcZUkNuiOm - Also I tweeted about another youtube clip (https://t.co/BOGhDq47ma) which details the inquiry process; you will certainly find that informative.
@TeachThought provides this great list of benefits of Inquiry-based Learning. What does everyone think about this method of teaching and how it can allow for an inclusive classroom? #UoNTeach
@c3163703 I agree, students understanding that their are a range of celebrations for different cultures would be very educational for them - it would also allow them to be respectful of others in these times.
The @NSWEducation provides multicultural education information to help teachers to plan to create a culturally inclusive curriculum and classroom. They also provide a cultural diversity calendar that would be interesting for the students - something that will be in my classroom!
This is a really good point by @m_culturalnsw about the way media can affect our judgement/knowledge of diversity in our country. When i was at school @BehindTheNews was a great informative tool that teachers used. Can anyone think of any other tv shows or movies? #UoNTeach
Representation in media is important as it can help with self identity, self esteem and is a great educational tool in supporting people to learn about each other.
What are some of your favourite tv shows or movies that help to promote a positive image that you relate to?
@c3163703@therealmemfox Thank you for the suggestion Morgan @c3163703. I will definitely have a look. Aboriginal stories are of course a resource I would provide for students in my classroom!
@c3163703@HarmonyDay_AU I recall this too! After more research i found this webpage on the @HarmonyDay_AU website - https://t.co/HG4d59M1iE. They provide numerous lesson ideas for a range of KLA's. Definitely have a look to get some ideas.
Earlier this year many schools would have participated in @harmonyday_au, which seeks to communicate the importance of cultural diversity and inclusivity in the school setting. It is events like this that will bring a community together through sharing of cultures #UoNTeach
@WarbyJenna @TpTdotcom This would be a great poster to display in the classroom, as a teacher you could refer back to it when students were being disruptive or noncooperative when someone was speaking. Thanks @WarbyJenna.
I believe that having the right knowledge to create healthy relationships with peers is important for students when creating an inclusive classroom. Mutual respect will be a major focus of this in my classroom. What other relationship aspects would you encourage? #UoNTeach
@WarbyJenna@AusHumanRights Thank you for the suggestion, this one would work really well for a younger group of students. I saw that @AusHumanRights also provided the actions for the song which would be entertaining for the children.
What a great summary for students about how no one person is the same as any other and that is perfectly fine - this song could be learnt for an event such as harmony day to show their understanding of what the day means.

As I have learnt throughout my research there are many aspects that are needed to create an inclusive classroom. I feel that as long as I continue to be educated on how I can respect all students needs I will succeed in making my classroom inclusive for all. #UoNTeach
The @adcet_edu_au website provides information for inclusive teaching for a range of specific disabilities. I think this is a great resource as it will allow me as a teacher to support such students so they are able to learn to the best of their ability.

What amazing statistics to show how culturally diverse our state of NSW is! This makes me intrigued to meet many young people that can help me to learn about these many cultures that will bring diversity to my classroom. Great information by @m_culturalnsw https://t.co/Ke8EruV5Do
The National Close the Gap campaign seeks to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. In relation to education it is about these students having the opportunities to reach their potential and succeed at school #UoNTeach#CloseTheGap

@Jessica87693519@c3163703 https://t.co/nioOVD5iDd - there is the link to the document fact sheet that can provide you with some more information. Definitely a good point being made about it relating to a whole range of students @c3163703.
Aboriginal 8 ways of Learning is a framework that allows teachers to include Indigenous perspectives when creating lessons. I highly recommend any future teachers familiarising themselves with this pedagogical approach for an inclusive classroom. #UoNTeach
