51 years ago today, Wally Dallenbach won the 1973 California 500 @ Ontario Motor Speedway.

“Wally Dallenbach made a huge contribution to our sport for five decades as a driver and official.”

Dallenbach, who started the #Indy500 13 times with a best finish of 4th and earned a front row qualifying position, died at age 87.
