@olderideas @lydia_massiah @dnm_thegoose @joshual951 @ChrisGPackham there's no livestock on Hoylake beach but it is a RAMSAR site, a SAC and an SSSI. It's not legal to pick, excavate or destroy and of the plants there without a license.

@ArmitageAndi @joshual951 The netting doesn't work to stop the sand. Grass on the beach however does a great job of catching the sand and keeping it on the beach.

I’m utterly devastated.

Since this image was posted, one of the entitled and bitter locals has decided to pull up ALL flowering Yellow Flag Iris on Hoylake beach. To deprive other people and wildlife of such a beautiful and valued wild plant is outright evil.

@Wirralpix That’s because the beach is rising rather than because the sea isn’t. Lots of sand coming in from the sea.
