Sign of a World Class striker . Barely had anything the whole game and when the crucial moment came brilliant setup and brilliant finish . Take a bow Alexander Isak ๐๐ป
Huge 3 points . Munoz and Jacquet have been one of the best signings in the whole PL soo far . Incredible display . Wirtz was better but him and Barcola still need to be more clinical in the final action to be the world class players that they are .
Positive performance in Europe . Barcola showed his quality and worth . Wirtz was brilliant . Frimpong very dynamic and threatening going forward but defensively his positioning and awareness remains poor . Koumas is just made for this club . You can see how much it means to him
Football has to unite when it comes to making sure City get the consequences they deserve . Instead we have fans still putting their biases and having a laugh . This is the biggest scandal in football history
Stevie spot on here. If โtechnicallyโ the 2nd yellow is correct. Then M Guehi grabbing and handling the ball is โtechnicallyโ a yellow card๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Enzo waving a imaginary card (not booked) yet Araujo was booked๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
The Red changed the whole game when a warning would have done๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
How can there be no punishment yet. Understand that they can appeal but are they just going to keep playing on without any consequences for the time being while the rest of the league just watches. The integrity of the premier league is at serious risk . #PremierLeague
Have to stay positive about Iraola and his setup . Looked good before the sending off . Missing our most clinical attackers Isak and Gakpo aswell . Onto the next . Wirtz form is concerning but not giving up on him just yet. Onto UCL #LivCity
Absolutely bang on from Keane.
How good Cityโs team is, or how good the individuals are, is a total irrelevance. It was all built on lies. None of it exists without them breaking the rules. Literally every single game theyโve won since 2009 is pointless.
To act like all he did against England was a nice cross because they โlet him have the ballโ is hilariously disingenuous.
And you speak of an easy run, yet Argentina struggled in every one of those games bar the group stages, and it took a 39 year old to drag them to the World Cup finals.
Best player at the World Cup at 39, which I strongly believe he was, is something I can safely say we will never seen again.
Not sad at all.
Heโs building a new person, and itโs clear football has left him, like it has so many before him.
He hasnโt found his identity after football yet.
heโs trying to find it.
Let him be.
The day we never wanted to come is finally here. Tonight, Leo Messi will play his final match for the Argentina National Team.
And speaking completely objectively, I canโt think of a more beautiful and emotional story in any sport than the one between Lionel Messi and Argentina. Itโs the kind of story that Iโm sure will one day become a movie and have books written about it.
Itโs a story that every person can use as motivation in life, no matter what happens, never give up and keep fighting for your dreams.
You fall? Get back up. You fall again? Get back up again and keep fighting.
This story had everything, sadness, happiness, injustice, justice, criticism, praise, defeats and victories. After so many disappointments, Leo Messi still managed to achieve absolutely everything with Argentina, everything that had always been his biggest dream in football. He achieved it through his leadership, his effort, and alongside an incredible group of players.
Iโve watched six World Cups, and not a single one of them was without Messi. I donโt know the Argentina National Team without Messi, and I donโt know Messi without the Argentina National Team.
I canโt imagine not having that extra excitement anymore, knowing: โHoy juega Messi.โ I donโt think any player will ever be able to give me the same feeling I had watching Messi play, especially when he was wearing the Argentina shirt.
And maybe the worst part is realizing that, as time passes, it slowly takes away the childhood that Leo Messi gave us, and thereโs absolutely nothing we can do to stop it.
A 21-year story is coming to an end and I can proudly say that I regret nothing. I witnessed around 90% of Messiโs entire journey with Argentina, and throughout all those years, I never once turned against him. I suffered and enjoyed everything with him.
It didnโt matter who Argentina were playing. Whether it was the World Cup, Copa Amรฉrica, World Cup qualifiers, or simply a friendly game, I can confidently say that whenever it was possible for me, I was there watching every single game.
Thereโs really nothing more I can say.
Thank you, Leo.
This was the most beautiful story in the history of sport and Iโm proud and grateful that, me, we, the fans, were able to be a part of it too. ๐ฆ๐ท๐
With Messi retiring from international football in 2 days, I want to remind you all of this iconic moment..
During the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Messi missed games for Argentina due to injury. The Argentine national team played 8 games without him, losing 7 of them and winning just 1. During those 8 games, Di Marรญa played every single one and didnโt score a single goal, registering just 1 assist.
Then Messi suddenly returned from injury, and what happened was unbelievable.
Argentina beat Uruguay 1-0, with Messi scoring the only goal.
They beat Chile 1-0, with Messi scoring the only goal.
They beat Colombia 3-0, with Messi scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.
Then, in the decisive game for World Cup qualification, Messi scored a hat trick against Ecuador and secured Argentinaโs place at the World Cup after they had been on the verge of missing out entirely.
At the time, qualifying felt like winning a trophy.
The Argentina national team of Lionel Messi.
