Today marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As we honor the 1.5 million Armenians murdered by the Ottoman Empire across modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Armenia, we must refuse to let history repeat itself.
In 2020, the military forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey attacked the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. In 2023, Azerbaijan expelled over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, continuing the genocidal campaign that had begun over 100 years prior.
On this day of remembrance, we reaffirm the right of the Armenian people — and all people — to freedom, safety, and self-determination.

Media reports this woman is Armine Mosiyan, the daughter of Meruzhan Mosiyan, who died in 1993 during the #Artsakh war. He's posthumously awarded the Order of the Military Cross of the I degree
Leaked documents have revealed that a London-based public relations firm with reported ties to Azerbaijan circulated a media advisory encouraging U.S. journalists to publish critical stories about the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), prompting calls for transparency about the origins of the campaign.
The firm, Apollo Strategic Communications, allegedly sent the email on March 2 to American editors and reporters. The message, attributed to Apollo representative Daniel Blake-Martin, invited journalists to pursue stories critical of the ANCA, an advocacy organization representing Armenian-American interests in Washington.
According to documents obtained by several news outlets, the advisory offered journalists access to four unnamed “off-the-record” sources, including a congressional staffer, an Armenian member of parliament, and individuals from academic and think-tank circles. The memo reportedly repeated arguments frequently advanced by Azerbaijani and Turkish government interests against pro-Armenia advocacy groups in the United States.
ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian described the effort as a coordinated attempt to discredit the organization because of its policy positions. 301 reached out to Hamparian for comment regarding the leaked memo.
Following the leak, Apollo Strategic Communications reportedly deactivated its account on X (formerly Twitter) and removed Blake-Martin’s profile from its website.
The ANCA has called on the firm to clarify several key issues, including who commissioned the media outreach and whether the activity was carried out on behalf of a foreign client.
The controversy has also raised questions about Apollo’s corporate connections. The firm is part of the RSK Group, which maintains a subsidiary operating in Azerbaijan - Azerbaijan Environment and Technology Centre Ltd. - with active projects in the Caspian region.
Apollo Strategic Communications has not publicly responded to requests for comment regarding the leaked memo. The ANCA says it will continue pressing for full disclosure about who funded and directed the campaign targeting the organization.

My husband, Ruben Vardanyan, the philanthropist, businessman, and former Minister of State of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was arrested and detained by the Azerbaijani authorities at the border this morning as he tried to leave with thousands of Armenians.
Ruben has stood with the Arsakh people during the 10-month blockade and has suffered with them in their struggle for survival.
I ask for your prayers and support for my husband's safe release.

After a ten months long blockade, on September 19th Azerbaijan’s military launched a brutal shelling of Nagorno Karabakh.
My heart breaks as I learn about the stories of trauma, loss, and severe violations of human rights of thousands of Armenian families who are being forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and flee for Armenia in a mass exodus.
The situation that people in Nagorno-Karabakh are suffering right now, brings memories from History’s darkest hours. We often look back to those dark pages of indiscriminate killings, ethnic cleansing and concentration camps with remorse, and regret that no one did enough to stop it. We cannot bring back the victims from those past atrocities, but we are still in time to prevent genocide from unfolding in the Nagorno-Karabakh.
In the midst of this horror, we need immediate mobilization of emergency humanitarian aid through the Lachine Corridor and airlift and the deployment of international monitoring missions to put a stop to these crimes against humanity.
It is now urgent for international leaders to stand up against ethnic cleansing and use all possible political tools to put an end to military actions in the region.
Children have the right to live in peace in their homeland.
