@CVuillot@ShrutiPuri11 We also tried (2w,w), which is almost identical as (w+1,1). It’s probably true that (w+1,1) <= (w+m,m) <= (d+1,1). We didn’t consider everything mostly because simulation takes too long.
@earltcampbell@ShrutiPuri11 Thanks Earl! To me it's pretty interesting that overlapping (3,1) decoding with such a small width already outperforms non-overlapping decoding of width 16. The traditional philosophy of FT that we shouldn't correct the latest errors still works very well!
