What’s happening in Croydon, Ealing and other councils around the country is the destruction of a crucial statutory service.
We all hoped that @UKLabour @lisanandy @RhonddaBryant would intervene to halt/reverse library cuts & closures but we’re still waiting.

We pander far too much to Senior Managers & Cllrs who can read a spreadsheet but don’t really understand the true worth of what they have.
Impact & outcomes are far more important.

The silence from @UKLabour re the crisis in the Public Libraries sector has been deafening, oh there’s been glitzy receptions in parliament and cosy meetings with prof orgs BUT users, staff, unions & campaigners have been virtually ignored.

Deepest insult
This is what library staff at Bradmore Green have been told to hand out to residents so, instead of a local, accessible library with disabled parking they are being given a bit of paper. Our disabled, elderly and all residents are horrified.
