Happy Birthday, dear Judith, the unique and true Queen of Chess!
Time flies, and I still vividly remember our first meeting and the training games we played in Paris in 1992 to warm up before a major rapid tournament (in which I faced Garry Kasparov in the last 16). I no longer recall who suggested to play those games, but I clearly remember they ended 2–2.
And how I searched all over Paris for a big bouquet of flowers for you and your mother :), who kindly hosted that friendly match in your hotel room.
Treasured memories from the good old days…
There will never be enough words to do justice to your unmatched achievements, yet I especially want to highlight your remarkable human qualities.
Always fair, always authentically friendly, and at the same time truly charismatic (not easy to combine!), you remain a genuine role model in every sense for generations to come.
Wishing you all the very best, my dear colleague @GMJuditPolgar, and once again, accept my deepest respect and appreciation.
