@fnveenie If no top-6 talent is coming, I'd start Demidov on the first line from Day 1. The most important thing right now is making sure he spends as much time as possible playing 5-on-5 with elite talent. That's the best investment the Canadiens can make in his development.

@mndamico I think the term "paying a premium" is more accurate than "overpaying." If the trade improves your team, it wasn't an overpayment. It was the cost of acquiring a scarce asset.

@RiseFromTheAshZ The biggest argument against standing pat is Demidov's development. He needs to learn what it's like to play on a truly dangerous NHL line. Another year with a big talent gap beside him could slow his long-term growth.
