We are urgently looking for an experienced foster, or foster to adopt, for JR, a sweet boy who desperately needs a home.
JR has sadly found himself in kennels after his owner went into care. He’s a lovely lad, but can be nervous, so he needs a calm, understanding home.
He cannot live with children, dogs or cats, so we’re looking for a quiet household where he can feel safe and loved.
Right now, JR should be enjoying the comfort of a warm home, not stuck in kennels.

What’s worse is that Stripe really struggles in kennels. He is one of the dogs that breaks our hearts the most. His carers regularly spend their time off taking Stripe on day trips away from the sanctuary, but it’s a forever home he really needs.
Stripe is a sensitive soul who needs a quieter home without children or other pets. He has so much love to give, please share to help Stripe find his Staffy loving soul mate.

Meet Winnie and Cleo…
Here is an example of just two dogs that have come through our gates this week, both in a horrific condition. Unfortunately, we see more cases like this than we’d like to admit.
Staff are tired, upset and angry but we won’t give up on these dogs! It takes its toll on us humans too, to continuously see these heart-wrenching sights on a regular basis. We are only human and are doing the upmost best as we can to provide the best care for these guys, day in, day out.
We cannot predict what dogs come through our gates, the condition they may come in or the behaviours they may show. We are completely in the dark of their past history, experiences or triggers, unless someone comes forward who knows them.
Our duty of care, kicks in as soon as they enter our gates. We can help them as much as possible, but we also need YOUR help.
🐶 Despite what little Winnie has been through, she’s shown us so much of her true personality already. She’s a lovely happy girl and will make the most amazing companion once she’s ready to find her 2nd chance at life.
🐶 Cleo on the other hand - it seems she has never been shown any form of love before💔
Coming out of her kennel is absolutely terrifying, but with constant reassurance and a little treat persuasion she’s slowly showing signs of trust.
🐶 We will shortly be looking for an experienced FOSTER HOME for Cleo to assist her in her rehabilitation journey to be able to learn to trust humans again 🙏
Unfortunately we are having to rely on our fundraising group Fonds - Friends Of Newport Dogs more than ever lately. We aren’t asking for a lot of money but anything helps, if you are unable to donate, please share, like or comment and increase the algorithm.
We rely on donations to provide any dogs that need vital or veterinary care the treatments they require to recover and rehabilitate.

Daisy is a very sweet old lady who is happiest when in a warm, comfy bed. She is looking for a calm and quiet retirement home, where she can spend her twilight years snoozing in a variety of cosy places, getting some fuss from her humans and going out for her short walks

Daisy may be an old lady, who we suspect is deaf, but still thoroughly enjoys going for her walks, though she can’t go far and prefers a few short walks a day.

It’s always tough to see a dog in the shelter, but feels tougher for a 17-year-old, so we are hoping to see Daisy in her forever home very soon where she will no doubt, bring a lot of love and joy to her new family-
