Thanks to OTF for the $99,600 SEED grant and Honourable Stephen Lecce MPP @Sflecce, along with @IKEACanada staff, community partners and members to attend and celebrate the project outcomes in @City_of_Vaughan /York Region. The Home Essentials Lending Place (HELP) program collected and distributed items valued at $211,000 to 1266 low-income individuals in one year. Approx. 70% (38,850 Kilograms) of donated items were reused, significantly reducing waste and promoting #sustainability. #reuse #recycle #dignity

HELP has transformed both environmental and social outcomes. Items once destined for landfillsโsuch as used/returned furniture/itemsโare now repurposed to help low-income families settle comfortably and with dignity. in one year, approximately 70% (38,850 Kilograms) of donated items were reused, significantly reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

@LensCrafters offers prescription glasses. Punjabi Community Health Services, Vaughan Community Health Centre and Community and Home Assistance to Seniors offered off-lease technology (Laptops, Desktops, Phones). Community members provided financial and in-kind donations, and partners offered referrals.

Thanks to United Way Greater Toronto though Allan Slaight Seniors Fund to help develop assitive products, programs and services to enhance the quality of life of seniors and extend their stay at home.
In Oct. 2024, Human Endeavour received a Seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) (@ONTrillium), Govt. of Ontario (@ONgov) to help provide household items donated by IKEA Vaughan (@IKEACanada) to refugees and low-income families in York Region, to help ease financial burdens and live with dignity. In 11 months, we served 1514 individuals and distributed 6000 household items. Thanks to OTF and IKEA, the HELP (Home Essentials Lending Place) program is a success and continues to expand.
