The great Hudson Valley School artist, Frederic Church, built a wonderful and unique dwelling in upstate New York in the 1870s. Olana, as it is known, has an extremely tasteful new visitor centre to mark Church's 200th anniversary and I would encourage everyone to visit

Were they really this ugly? I argue the answer is no, and that the reconstructions are a form of "trolling".
