I go hard
With a hard G, Gerry is pronounced like Gary:
“GEHR-ee” (rhymes with very).
The G sounds like the g in go, game, or great, not like the g in gem.
"Is This Love" is from the album Kaya (1978), recorded in London while Bob Marley was living in exile after the 1976 assassination attempt in Jamaica. Many believe the song was inspired by his relationship with Cindy Breakspeare (Miss World 1976 and mother of Damian Marley). Cindy herself has confirmed in interviews that the track was written about her. The song was composed during the period when Bob was living with Cindy in London, which gave Kaya a lighter and more romantic tone compared to his previous albums.
Released as a single, it reached #9 on the UK Singles Chart. Decades later, it surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. The official music video was filmed at the Keskidee Arts Centre in London and features a very young Naomi Campbell (just 7 years old) in what is considered her first public appearance, dancing and singing along with other children.
"Jump" is the debut single by Kris Kross (Chris Mac Daddy Kelly and Chris Daddy Mac Smith) from the album Totally Krossed Out (1992). They were only about 13 when they recorded the track. Jermaine Dupri discovered them in an Atlanta mall, saw the talent and produced the entire music.
It spent 8 weeks in a row at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (a record at the time), sold over 2 million copies in 1992, and was the third best-selling single of the year in the US. The video, shot in Atlanta, captured a very rare blizzard (first snow in 20 years in the city).
