"Battle of #Worcester artefacts unearthed...Historians have always known the area was the site of the 1651 [final #EnglishCivilWar ] battle, but it is the first time physical evidence has been recovered." #WednesdayWisdom@joinLordGrey @EnglishCivilWar https://t.co/BMPPQ44sIV
Heading back to glasgow after three days @lparchaeology store going through lead shot from @DigWaterloo. Absolutely nothing to do with my #PhD but great chance to do some #archaeology#materialculture again.

I thought I understood colour theory pretty well but then this video fucked me up and I get why I’ve been so obsessed with cyan and magenta in my colour schemes
...and our fieldwork has started❤️ One of the first finds coming out of the ice this year was this incredibly well preserved c. 1500-year-old arrow. We have heavy melting of old ice due to the July heatwave. We expect a lot of exciting archaeological finds in the coming weeks😃
If you missed us on BBC Breakfast News this morning, make sure you watch their fantastic piece on the therapeutic value of Waterloo Uncovered for our veteran participants - the 4th most watched video on the BBC today!: https://t.co/LxuirIJj0T #WU2019#WaterlooUncovered
At the site of former field hospital Mont-Saint-Jean, our students, archaeologists and veterans have found several human leg bones, in what we believe to be a pit where limbs amputated in the hospital during the #BattleofWaterloo were thrown. Stay tuned for more details! #WU2019
Very proud of the pivotal role @lparchaeology plays in this amazing project. An incredible season, revealing more and more insights into both the horrors of war but also the power that companionship and shared endeavour has in aiding in the recovery from those horrors.
Today has been pretty epic @DigWaterloo - metal detecting close to Mont-St-Jean has indicated cross-fighting between Allied & French troops, while the North Gate of Hougoumont has yielded Scots Guards buttons next to the location of Coldstream Guards ones! https://t.co/zMbUxtnt36
@DigWaterloo at Mont St Jean, site of allied field hospital behind front line. Archaeologists, veterans and students working together to define the area of hospital acivities. An early find by Oliver from Coldstream Guards. @UofGArts @UofGWarstudies@LoveArchaeology@UofGArchaeo
