@scottiebateman Scott, a message that cannot be emphasised more strongly. Your timely warning/advice also extends to the public at large who charge up e-bikes overnight fitted with these batteries, either within the house or garage.
There are few things that concern pilots and crew more than this scenario. A lithium battery power pack that has a thermal runaway and catches fire mid-Atlantic. This was well handled by the KLM crew and a potential disaster averted.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not put these in your hold baggage and if they’re damaged do not bring them onboard. You will place you and the entire aircraft at significant risk.
@scottiebateman I take solace in the fact that I'm not the only one thinking this . People do need to act their age, not their shoe size and look at the bigger picture. Have a restful timeout and hope to see you soon on the other side :)
To All South Africans: All pilots and experience aviators on this app are telling you that those Airlink pilots were dangerously low. That the actions of those pilots were irresponsible. Stop thinking they are all “against” South Africa. It is a safety issue, not an SA issue.
@DeanMacpherson This is the problem. We work tirelessly to improve aviation safety on a daily basis. Then uneducated MPs try and brainwash their current and potential constituents with their stupidity. If you think this is aboit SA, you really have the lowest level of intelligence.
@LaniWha@scottiebateman Its not about opinions. Its about safety. God forbid people had perished - perhaps your outlook would have been different. Blood response is a horrible lesson to learn . And we hope humans across the world are past that stage when it comes to aviation. Sad this is not the case.
Deeply saddened by the tragic news of the #K2Airways cargo flight going down in the Arabian Sea.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the five crew members on board and their families.
We hope for a swift and successful search and rescue operation and have offered all possible support in this regard. Gratitude to the Navy, Air Force and other shipping assets in the area participating in the operation.
A few issues, the reclined seat will block the evacuation of those behind you as their space will be restricted. This space restriction may also cause injury to the traveller behind if there’s an abrupt stop (they’d get thrown forward and strike the reclined chair/person in it). Lastly, in the event of a more serious incident the chair design is such that it gives most strength in the upright position, up to 16G deceleration. It’s a certification thing.
@JetBlue@soulbarn Is this response a practical joke? I assume it is. If not, JetBlue - please feel to reach out if you'd like a bit of support with customer service 101. Or just some common courtesy.
With hearts full of sorrow, we remember the cabin crew members we lost - beloved colleagues, cherished friends, and the soul of every journey they were a part of.
Their grace, warmth, and unwavering care touched thousands of lives in the skies and on the ground. To passengers, they were calm and comforting faces. To us, they were family.
Senior leaders from the Tata Group and Air India continue to stand beside their families and loved ones - to honour their memory, share in their grief, and offer quiet strength in a moment that words cannot ease.
Their kindness, spirit, and dedication will forever remain a part of who we are.
We remember:
Aparna Amol Mahadik, Shradha Mahadev Dhavan, Deepak Balasaheb Pathak, Irfan Samir Shaikh, Lamnunthem Singson, Maithili Patil, Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma, Saineeta Abin Chakravarti, Manisha Thapa and Roshni Rajendra Songhare.
You flew with compassion.
You will be remembered with love.
@BhavikaKapoor5 We need to get over this "enemy" rhetoric. Together these two countries can really build strength, power and defences - against real threat and enemies. We need to really start acting like neighbors. There are bigger fish to fry.
A Final Salute to Captain Sabharwal
With profound grief and heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Captain Sabharwal - an exceptional aviator, a dedicated professional, and a beloved member of the Air India family.
Captain Sabharwal’s unwavering commitment to the skies and his quiet strength on the ground earned him deep respect across the aviation fraternity.
At his funeral today, our COO, Tata Group's HR Head and Communications Head joined his family, friends, and colleagues to pay their respects, share in their pain and grief, and to offer moral support on behalf of the entire Air India and Tata Group family.
We stand in solidarity with his loved ones during this time of immense loss. His memory will continue to inspire us, and his legacy will forever be etched in the heart of Air India.
RIP Captain. You will be missed.
The United States is the only country in history to have used nukes, and it dropped them on civilians. So they're not really in any moral position to talk about who can have nuclear weapons.
