Here is my translation of her speech which, unfortunately, cannot capture the grace, compassion and love in her speech.
"Welcome all. I come here with my heart full of hope. Women like me used to be onlookers of history. Others make decisions for us from afar. We bury our brothers and wipe our tears. We ask when peace will come.
"For the first time today, my country has invited me to speak. This is not only my voice. This is also the voice of women and mothers who watch from afar. Today, Ethiopia is listening to the unheard voices of the past.
"Because we do not talk to each other, we have lost a lot. What we have gained are tears, burying our brothers, hate, sorrow and revenge. If fire could build a house, Ethiopia would have built it a long time ago. You build a house with your hands working together and your hearts listening to each other.
"Ethiopia is yours and ours. So, my compatriots, the anger you brought with you is not going back (home) with you. Discuss it here and resolve it.
"Don't ask who's going to win. Let us make Ethiopia the winner. This is the dream of many mothers. Let's make Ethiopia the winner. May God bless you. Thank you for listening to me."

Met with the President of AfriExim Bank, Dr. @GeorgeElombi and the esteemed Board of Directors of the Bank this evening. I appreciated the discussions on partnership, growth, and opportunities for Africaโs future.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, alongside high-level government officials and Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission leadership, toured an exhibition tracing the four-year journey of the National Dialogue process.

Pleased to welcome EU High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy @kajakallas , for a productive meeting today. Our discussions centered on key priority areas of mutual interest, focusing on the strengthening of EU-Africa relations. We also addressed pertinent regional issues of concern and explored strategic pathways to further advance and expand economic cooperation.
It is with great pride that I join you today at the opening ceremony of this historic National Dialogue. This grand conference, which will bring together four thousand participants under one roof in the coming weeks, marks a historic opportunity for Ethiopia to obtain the โpen and parchmentโ with which to write a new chapter of its history by its own hand.
We are at a moment when we can break the cycle in Ethiopiaโs political journey. A cycle that begins with inflammatory rhetoric and ends in violent action, and replace it with dialogue and discussion. I extend my sincere gratitude to the commissioners of the National Dialogue Commission for their invaluable contributions toward making this important undertaking possible.
This conference, which is founded on a bottom-up agenda-setting process involving hundreds of thousands of citizens, is a rare and remarkable event with immense significance in Ethiopiaโs modern history. Through it, we have the opportunity to transform our challenges into opportunities and establish a lasting culture of peaceful transfers of power.
Today, we are planting good seeds that will benefit future generations, and we are ensuring that our children will enjoy the fruits they bear. As we participate in this dialogue, if we set aside our local interests and deliberate for the sake of Ethiopia, keeping our children and their future in mind, the outcome will be truly fruitful.
Together, let us cultivate hope, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence. By resolving our differences through dialogue and reconciliation within our own country, let us safeguard Ethiopia from external interference. I call upon all participants to achieve a historic outcome; one that will benefit Ethiopia, serve as an example for Africa, and bring genuine peace and relief to all Ethiopians.
May Ethiopia forever prosper and be honored through the efforts of her children!
