ዛሬ የከተማ አስተዳደራችንን የ2018 በጀት ዓመት ማጠቃለያ ስራዎች አፈፃፀም ግምገማ ማካሄድ ጀምረናል።

ለሶስት ተከታታይ ቀናት በሚቆየው የአፈፃፀም ግምገማ መድረክ በበጀት ዓመቱ ለመፈፀም ያስቀመጥናቸውን ግቦች፣ እንዲሁም የ2018 በጀት ዓመት የአምስት ዓመት ስትራቴጂክ እቅዳችን ማጠቃለያ ዓመትም በመሆኑ ከባለፉት 5 ዓመታት አፈፃፀም ጋር አያይዘን የምንገመግም ይሆናል።

"For the first time today, my country has invited me to speak. This is not only my voice. This is also the voice of women and mothers who watch from afar. Today, Ethiopia is listening to the unheard voices of the past.

"Because we do not talk to each other, we have lost a lot. What we have gained are tears, burying our brothers, hate, sorrow and revenge. If fire could build a house, Ethiopia would have built it a long time ago. You build a house with your hands working together and your hearts listening to each other.

"Ethiopia is yours and ours. So, my compatriots, the anger you brought with you is not going back (home) with you. Discuss it here and resolve it.

ኢትዮጵያ የሁላችን ቤት ናት!

ኢትዮጵያ የሁሉም ዜጎቿ የጋራ ቤት ናት። ለሁሉም ኢትዮጵያውያን ክብር፣ አንድነት፣ ፍትሕ እና እኩልነትን ለማረጋገጥ የሚደረግ ሁሉን አሳታፊ ምክክር ለዘላቂ ሰላም ወሳኝ መሠረት መሆኑን ያረጋገጠ የምክክር ኮሚሽን ። ይህ በደቡብ ኦሞ የሀመር ማህበረሰብን የዚህ ማሳያ ሲሆን ሁሉም የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝቦችና ማህበረሰቦች በእኩልነት የሚሳተፉበት ውይይት ብሔራዊ አንድነትን ያጠናክራል።

ለአገራቸው ድንበርና ሉዓላዊነት ሲሉ መስዋዕትነት ለከፈሉ አርበኞችና ለሁሉም የደኅንነት ኃይሎች ክብር መስጠት ብሔራዊ ኃላፊነታችን ነው። በተመሳሳይም በታሪክ በልማት ያልተደረሰላቸውንና በችግር ውስጥ የሚኖሩ ዜጎችን ያካተተ ውይይት ፍትሃዊ እድገትንና አካታች ልማትን ለማረጋገጥ ወሳኝ ነው።

በኢትዮጵያ ሁሉም ዜጋ እኩል መብት እና እኩል ግዴታ አለው። አንዱ ሌላውን በመከባበር፣ በመደማመጥና በመነጋገር ልዩነቶቻችንን በሰላማዊ መንገድ መፍታት የሁላችንም ኃላፊነት ነው። አንድነታችን ጥንካሬያችን ነው፤ ምክክር ከግጭት ይልቅ ዘላቂ መፍትሔን ያመጣል።

ማንም ብሔር ከማንም አይበልጥም፤ ኢትዮጵያ የሁሉም ቤት፣ የሁሉም ማንነት እና የጋራ ተስፋ ናት። ዛሬ የምናቀርበው ገንቢ ሀሳብ የነገውን ትውልድ የሚጠቅም ጠንካራ መሠረት ይጥላል።

ግጭትና ጦርነት የበለጠ መከራና ጥፋትን ያስከትላሉ፤ ሰላም፣ ውይይትና መተማመን ግን የተሻለ የወደፊት ተስፋን ይገነባሉ። ለልጆቻችን ሰላማዊ፣ ፍትሃዊና የበለጸገች ኢትዮጵያ ለመገንባት ሁላችንም በመከባበር፣ በመደማመጥና በሰላማዊ ውይይት እንሳተፍ።

ኢትዮጵያ መኖሪያችን፣ መቀበሪያችን እና የጋራ ቤታችን ናት፤ ሰላሟን፣ አንድነቷን እና የሁሉንም ክብር በጋራ እንጠብቅ።

It is with great pride that I join you today at the opening ceremony of this historic National Dialogue. This grand conference, which will bring together four thousand participants under one roof in the coming weeks, marks a historic opportunity for Ethiopia to obtain the “pen and parchment” with which to write a new chapter of its history by its own hand.

We are at a moment when we can break the cycle in Ethiopia’s political journey. A cycle that begins with inflammatory rhetoric and ends in violent action, and replace it with dialogue and discussion. I extend my sincere gratitude to the commissioners of the National Dialogue Commission for their invaluable contributions toward making this important undertaking possible.

This conference, which is founded on a bottom-up agenda-setting process involving hundreds of thousands of citizens, is a rare and remarkable event with immense significance in Ethiopia’s modern history. Through it, we have the opportunity to transform our challenges into opportunities and establish a lasting culture of peaceful transfers of power.

Today, we are planting good seeds that will benefit future generations, and we are ensuring that our children will enjoy the fruits they bear. As we participate in this dialogue, if we set aside our local interests and deliberate for the sake of Ethiopia, keeping our children and their future in mind, the outcome will be truly fruitful.

Together, let us cultivate hope, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence. By resolving our differences through dialogue and reconciliation within our own country, let us safeguard Ethiopia from external interference. I call upon all participants to achieve a historic outcome; one that will benefit Ethiopia, serve as an example for Africa, and bring genuine peace and relief to all Ethiopians.
