With the Indian invasion consuming Texas, it's a good time to remember Prakashanand Saraswati, founder of Barsana Dham, the oldest Hindu Temple in TX, just south of Austin. After sexually abusing White girls as young as 12, he was convicted on 20 felony counts & fled to India.
A friend of mine runs a denim brand. His jeans cost $300 because they're cut and sewn in Los Angeles using premium Japanese denim.
He tells me that Trump's trade war has done three things:
1. They've raised the cost of his inputs. He can't substitute his Japanese denim with American denim because doing so would lower the quality of his product. If he's going to make premium jeans, he has to use premium materials. And the best stuff right now comes from Japan.
2. They've made his products more expensive abroad. In Canada, for instance, the price of his jeans has gone up because of the trade war.
3. He's seen a decrease in overseas sales. He tells me that a Canadian store reduced its orders this year because, as they told him, customers now come in and explicitly say they won't buy anything made in the US.
Of course, if the tariffs encouraged Americans to switch from their cheap $50 imported Levi's to $300 made-in-USA jeans, then that would be great! But that has not happened. People who buy $50 Levi's may pay $60, reducing their purchasing power elsewhere, but they don't switch to made-in-USA jeans.
Hard to see the point of this trade war with Canada.
🚨 LMAO!! Ugandan Mayor Mamdani just got exposed for requiring ID to use his government-run grocery stores
Isn't that Jim Crow 2.0? 🤡
His team says: "We will target New Yorkers...sort of a library card-esque thing."
This afternoon, two people were stabbed in separate attacks on the Upper West Side. Both victims — an Asian male and a Jewish male — were removed to Mt. Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital, and both are expected to survive.
The NYPD has arrested 51-year-old Raul Morales in connection with both assaults, and no other people are being sought. Detectives are continuing to work the case and determine motive, but according to victim and witness statements, Morales yelled “Allahu Akbar” during both attacks. The NYPD is currently evaluating whether this is a potential hate crime.
While the perpetrator has no known mental health history with the NYPD, the initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor.
At this time there is no known link between Morales and either of the victims, nor between the victims and each other.
I want to commend the bravery of a good Samaritan who led our officers to the location where the perpetrator was hiding, as well as our NYPD cops who brought an end to the incident without further injuries.
I guess Republicans want to lose the midterms….Promising mass deportations won big.
Then DHS says long-term TPS Haitians can now apply for permanent residence?
Huh? That's not enforcement, that's the old 'temporary means forever' filter that got us in this situation to begin with.
Polls: Harvard/Harris had 56% supporting deporting all illegals, 78% for criminals. NYT/Siena at 54%.
Americans want removals, not more loopholes.
Ignore the base that elected you and watch enthusiasm evaporate by 2026.
Deliver the promise or lose the House.
Mass deportations now and, oh, don’t shut down detention facilities!
The biggest bank in America told the public that space x was probably not worth $135,
that was the investor hold the bag price (96x pe)
Space X will drop to like $75-79 & then it will be a good time to buy
BREAKING: SpaceX will be paid ~$2.32 billion per month from these 3 AI compute deals.
• Anthropic: $1.25B/month
• Google: $920M/month
• Reflection: $150M/month
That’s a nearly $28 billion annual run rate from AI compute alone.
🚨 do you understand what happened to Apple..
At WWDC, Apple confirmed that Siri's cloud layer now runs on a custom Google Gemini model with 1.2 trillion parameters, licensed for roughly $1 billion a year.
Strategically, this is a reversal. The company that built its brand on privacy and vertical integration has handed the core of its AI stack to a direct competitor. The same capabilities Apple announced at WWDC 2024 and never shipped — personal context, on-screen awareness, cross-app actions — now depend on Google Cloud.
→ $250M settlement in May for marketing Siri features that didn't exist
→ debuted at WWDC 2024, delayed March 2025, ads pulled
→ Tim Cook's final keynote before stepping down September 1
→ Siri's cloud inference now runs on Google's infrastructure
Apple didn't close the AI gap. It leased it.
Pragmatic move or structural capitulation in the AI race?
