@JetBlue Been waiting on the aircraft for 45 minutes at JFK for catering to arrive. There has been no sign of anyone arriving any time soon. The crew and captains are extremely frustrated, as are all of your loyal passengers!! Not acceptable.
Basim’s story has stuck with me over the past week and will continue to do so over the course of my life. The most important part of his story was hearing how he handled everything that happened to him. He could have been very angry and hate Americans, but he chose to forgive. https://t.co/HbI4EkpjDQ
This particular class with Basim was not just an experiment. This class was a life-changing, eye-opening experience that had me crying and feeling. I have never met anyone like Basim before, who has been through so much and felt so much pain, but is willing to forgive. #soc119 https://t.co/AUpv7bgTWg
Basim is such a special man and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to hear his story. After listening to Basim, I have learned that being angry isn’t going to help you in any way. In fact, being angry is only going to hurt you. It’s better to forgive and let go. #soc119 https://t.co/THRuAqxm5Y
As a Jewish woman, this class was very important to me. I have been learning about The Holocaust since I was a little girl and I never really thought about The Holocaust in the way Sam explained. I do think though many Christians in class took the class the wrong way. #soc119 https://t.co/qm5eHCgJ0k
This class truly changed my life and I seriously mean that. I never thought that I would shed a tear in any of my classes here at Penn State, but this class actually moved me to tears. Watching Basim have the courage to speak about his family was an incredible experience. #soc119 https://t.co/SX9IomeRdK
It is true that many times people take the sides of their country, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is always right. SOC119 has taught me the importance of looking at things from a different perspective and putting yourself in the shoes of others. Patriotism can’t always win. https://t.co/tddFu2GnQG
A lot of the time, our views are skewed to favor our country and its ideologies. This isn't our fault, but it's necessary to realize this in order to form our true opinions. What are some ways in which you can see this to be true? #soc119
When Sam asked the questions to the class about owning guns, using guns or knowing someone who has killed themselves using a gun, I was in complete and utter disbelief. I could not believe how many people around me stood up in response to those questions. STOP USING GUNS!#soc119 https://t.co/7sAMvx2MKC
Every day we are hearing about the negatives of the world and all the violence going on via the news, but we have to take a look around us and remember that not everyone is evil and not everyone is out to get you. Surround yourself with the most positive and loving people!#soc119 https://t.co/rt52rxnW6h
I don't believe these are the things we should be focusing on when it comes to THON. Yes, THON does have it's flaws, but what organization doesn't? Surely, THON could make many changes, but what's most important about THON are the kids and raising money to find a cure! #soc119 https://t.co/bWx6aVauvo
I don’t have a talent and I really wish I did! Everyone always says “Of course you have a talent,” but I really don’t. I love watching America’s Got Talent because the contestants are extremely gifted and so were the boys who flipped in class! Oh well, maybe next life! #soc119 https://t.co/s6NbNAt84r
I never truly understood affirmative action until I heard Sam explain it in class. When Sam said that there are specific programs for black people and not for white people in the same position as them I was mad because since race is involved, there has to be a difference. #soc119 https://t.co/HrZwEYOWop
It’s so sad that our world revolves around money. Everything costs and is related to money. Society has correlated wealth with happiness and that has divided our country. We are judging people based on social status and attracting ourselves to those of similar wealth. #soc119 https://t.co/RM0zLK1SqU
Last week’s discussion sparked a lot of different feelings since money is looked at as a very dividing thing in the U.S. What were your thoughts? #soc119
Daydreaming is unavoidable, especially as college students. Our minds go somewhere else without us even realizing it. I don’t believe we daydream because we are uninterested and it’s bad that sometimes this occurs in class, but daydreaming just happens and gives us an escape. https://t.co/JFub4iGgSm
This lecture interested me so much for so many reasons. I am extremely lucky to have the financial support of my parents, but hearing these other students talk and explain their lives and what they have to deal with daily, was eye-opening and gave me a whole new perspective. https://t.co/qBgBTwJ3xg
The marches, the walk out and the speaking out are the first steps in responding to this violence. All of the students who are aiming for change in this country are gaining worldwide attention, which will ultimately lead to change. This is how we should be responding to violence. https://t.co/HITOTANovE
After reading this article and seeing that quote, I have a better understanding of its meaning. We can’t, we won’t and we aren’t going to evolve if this conversation of race doesn’t progress or doesn’t occur. We need to speak about these issues that are so prevalent. #soc119 https://t.co/0palKAiv8y
