Rising water levels and increased flow in waterways due to rainfall and melting snow has led to flooding and road closures in Dufferin and nearby areas.
See our Flooding Prevention and Recovery Guide https://t.co/Bd8OqftO3r and well water testing info https://t.co/wLXuLECrXE
The majority of the snowpack melted over the weekend. With the added rainfall, it has created potentially hazardous conditions.
Please exercise extreme caution around local waterways, keep children and pets away from watercourses, and stay off ice-covered waterbodies.
A Flood Watch is now in place for the Maitland and Nine Mile River watersheds. This relates to ice jams that have been noted in several locations. For more information view the message on our website: https://t.co/uTVS5V3M7O
