The COP29 President Designate opened the launch of the Brazil Climate and Ecological Transformation Investment Platform (BIP), emphasizing the strong collaboration between the Troika presidencies—Brazil, Azerbaijan, and the UAE—and the importance of continuity, with each presidency building on the progress of its predecessor. Minister Babayev reinforced COP29’s commitment to an inclusive process that ensures developing countries receive the support they need to keep the 1.5°C target within reach and discussed how #BIP will strengthen Brazil’s climate commitments, “In mobilizing capital at scale towards both climate and biodiversity outcomes, it will help Brazil to meet its goals under the Paris Agreement and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

The "Security and Crowd Control" department of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company is working on security planning and operational integration alongside all law enforcement agencies.

Drawing on international event experience and in accordance with UN security principles, all types of security measures are nearing the completion of the preparation process. The law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan are fully supporting the successful execution of the COP29 event.

In preparation for #COP29, which is set to take place in Baku from 11 to 22 November, nighttime monitoring of transportation management in Baku has been successfully completed to ensure the seamless and safe organisation of road traffic during the event.

The monitoring activities, undertaken by the COP29 AOC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, involved assessing vehicle traffic on 20 October from 02:30 to 04:00 at various accommodation locations in the city centre, along with Heydar Aliyev International Airport and the event venue.
