Well after almost 5.5 hrs in queue, and what I had in my cart wasn't there anymore but instead of telling me it just logged me off and kicked me to the store page 🙃 this is such a shit system. Just go back to print to demand! WotC would make more money anyways!
Was in line 3 hours for the @wizards_magic secret lair for final fantasy and it's all sold out now. BUT HEY EBAY BIDS ARE UP. thanks scalpers and bots. Appreciate you 🤬 why is the secret lair a mess. Hopefully it wasn't the session id problem! Remember marvel?!
@IbimsDaniel@emerichase@gachaissue She does keep saying "depending where you live and work" b/c Right To Work states preclude that. Under Section 14B of the Taft–Hartley Act (61 Stat. 136 (Pub. Law 80-101, but you can google just US Law 61 stat 136 and PDFs of the legislation will be available.
@Gangsta_Gandalf@emerichase@Slimebo21 While this is true some places her comment of "where you live and work" matters. Right to Work states are precluded from the "must join" of any union, SAG-AFTRA included. So if you live or (potentially) work for a company in one, then you cannot be forced to join a union.
@swaanjis@ZZZ_EN But i do wonder since they have that. But in a RTW state SAG can't force anyone to join regardless, or say "you HAVE to be part of the union to work here"
@swaanjis@ZZZ_EN which prohibits mandatory union membership or dues as a condition of employment. So it may be possible for work to be subcontracted out through SC. I don't know how nitty gritty this could get but RTW states are no joke in their "anti-union" gusto
@KSatron @ZZZ_EN To add one more to this: Texas is a right to work state, and Sound Cadence is based out of Texas. So it's "must join" wouldnt apply here either
@KSatron @ZZZ_EN This isn't necessarily true either. In any right to work state the "must join" doesn't apply. Also as mentioned a lot of actors have used taft-harley as a way to JOIN sag or become SAGe. A lot will wait till the third TH and then join. You can also file exemptions as well.
@KSatron @ZZZ_EN Additionally it wouldn't even necessarily be hoyo filling out the Taft hartley form, but the casting director. So it may very well be Sound Cadence filing it
@KSatron @ZZZ_EN In that same reddit it says they can under the Taft Hartley act. So they would be able to go through that. On top of that many actors historically have used the Taft Hartley act as an expedited way to join sag, so, they 100% can still work on the project
@KSatron @ZZZ_EN They won't though? The interim does apply to the project/production but it doesn't prohibit non-union actors from working on that project. Non-union actors can work on those projects and benefit from union conditions, since the interim applies to the production, not the actor.
@KSatron @ZZZ_EN Why would they lose those VAs? Lycaon's VA isn't part of the union but was looking for those protections. Signing the interim would e solved that problem. The VA studio has problems with communication too, but the agreement would've also let him to come back
