Last month, I ordered paint from Tufaco Paints for my newly built art studio. When it arrived, I realized it wasn’t the type I thought we agreed on.
I said it wasn’t what I ordered.
The seller said it matched the description.
The payment worked. The delivery worked. We just disagreed on what the agreement actually meant.
That stuck with me because an agent economy will eventually face the same problem, except disagreements can happen at machine speed and across thousands of transactions.
That’s the gap @GenLayer is built for.

@seniorboyi The interesting part is that neither agent necessarily has to be “wrong” for a dispute to happen. If both followed their own interpretation of the agreement, you still need a neutral way to determine which interpretation holds.
Imagine telling an AI agent to book you a hotel room with an ocean view.
It finds the room, agrees on the price, pays another agent, and everything looks perfect.
Then you arrive and realize the “ocean view” is basically a tiny blue line between two buildings.
Now both sides disagree.
The hotel says the room qualifies. Your agent says it clearly doesn’t.
Who decides what the agreement actually meant?
This is the part of the agentic economy that gets overlooked.
Everyone is building for the happy path: agents finding things, negotiating, paying and completing tasks.
But the moment something goes wrong, the system needs judgment.
And when agents are potentially moving nearly $9T by 2030, disputes won’t be some rare inconvenience. They could become one of the biggest infrastructure problems.

@0xayyubb The hotel example shows why this matters. Two agents can follow the same agreement and still interpret the outcome differently. Someone needs to adjudicate the disagreement without simply trusting one side.
@BabsD89878 I could see this being useful for agents selling compute to each other too. If one side pays for a certain performance level and doesn’t get it, the dispute can be tied back to the exact terms instead of becoming a “he said, she said” situation.
I had one of those small problems today at the workshop where everyone remembers the agreement differently.
The frustrating part wasn’t even the issue itself. It was figuring out what was actually agreed in the first place.
That’s why Solana joining the Internet Court consortium caught my attention.

Humans already rely on this kind of structure every day. Receipts, agreed terms, records, someone to settle the disagreement.
Agents won’t be any different just because they move faster.
If anything, the faster they transact, the more important it becomes to know what happens when two sides remember the deal differently.
What’s the first agent-to-agent task you’d trust more if the rules, evidence, and dispute path were agreed before payment?
We learned to trust people outside our immediate circles. Then Bitcoin gave us trustless money. Ethereum pushed that further with trustless computation.
But computation can execute a rule perfectly and still leave one question unanswered:
What happens when the rule meets reality and people disagree on what happened?
