A nitpick. Pakistani journalists often say "Pakistani military made ___ party or group", insert, Taliban, TTP, TLP etc.
This is never accurate. The only party the military truly created was IJI, and that was a coalition not a party.
The Pakistani military is incapable of creating parties. What they do is try to hijack and control parties and movements that are organically taking shape.
They did that with the Taliban and they did that with TLP. This is the main reason they lose control of those parties eventually.
TLP was a larger movement that came out of Barelvi disaffection and rallied around the Mumtaz Qadri cause. Those who could, tried to exploit it with varying degrees of success.
If Pakistani military could, they would create 4 different parties right now. But they simply can't, if the organic movement they seek to exploit does not exist.

Punjab Assembly has passed the Punjab Public Awareness and Dissemination of Information Act, 2025. It became law on June 25.

The law blocks anyone from questioning Punjab govt self-promotion or asking about ad spending.

It also lets the govt rename any public project.
