Begs the question how much the DfE actually cares about the SATs results if this is the state of things. First time the exams have taken place in 3 years you’d have thought they’d have servers capable of everyone accessing results. Schools care - gov don’t! @BBCNews #SATs

Congratulations to all those getting their results today! I can’t believe the rhetoric coming from high above that something must be wrong with the data as so many are getting high results. Isn’t this an indicator that exams aren’t the best way to gauge ability? Time for change?

@andpem14 @Mr_AlmondED @MissSDoherty @Suchmo83 @berniewestacott There is certainly nothing new in there and I’m not really alarmed by anything raised. I would seriously question the rhetoric that there should be a push to abstract without manipulatives. They can be so useful in UKS2 when it comes to the likes of algebra, and beyond into KS3.

Would a better investment of the government’s money in schools be to build more rather than extend the hours of those existing. This could help reduce class sizes and consequently improve the quality of teaching. 🤔
