Not interested in getting into the discourse but it is always distressing to me how, whenever a thread of totally fake stuff like this goes viral, hundreds of people are immediately like “wow I never knew this! Thanks for educating me!”
How do Russians live knowing they can end up in jail at any moment? How do Americans live when they can die in a mass shooting next time they go to a supermarket or a church?
Russia had 420 political prisoners at the end of 2021. 508 killed & injured in US shootings since 2018.
it's far from a perfect or unimpeachable source, but I'd recommend some familiarity with John Perkins's CONFESSIONS OF AN ECONOMIC HIT MAN for how easily a certain kind of Prestige American goes straight from snob school to doing off-books intel work, often "private sector"
@BoobyJargon@cushbomb Haha well we'll see! I guess we'll know when we see people with illnesses that are unusual for their age group or waves of new diseases catching on!
@BoobyJargon@cushbomb The virus actively impedes the development of immune memory by infecting the t-cells. With the new variants, having prior infections and the vaccine make you more susceptible, not less.
@BoobyJargon@cushbomb The virus directly infects CD8 T-cells. In most people, it recovers in about 6 months to a year. For some people, it doesn't. And what happens if you get reinfected multiple times within 6 months?
One way or another, this virus actively attacks the immune system
@BoobyJargon@cushbomb This is a novel virus that hits your t cells similar to HIV, in the short term. Of course it's overboard to assume that means it'll trigger something like AIDS, but that's a legitimately terrifying finding with serious implications and it's point blank stupid to downplay that.
