Exciting news! As of today, our group is part of SISSA in Trieste. Big THANK YOU to all current and past group members, collaborators and mentors and to @mpicbg for hosting us for 8 amazing years! If you are interested in joining us in Trieste, please get in touch! @Sissaschool
🚨October Condensate of the Month is Stress Granule!
#StressGranules (#SGs) are dynamically forming cytoplasmic condensates that form in response to various cellular stresses.
🤩In CD-CODE there are more than 10 species and more than 1300 #protein associations described for SGs.
Stimulating conference on Condensates & Enzymology, in Black Forest. (An adventure getting here - roadside delays made fun w @Princeton colleague Ned Wingreen). Wonderful mtg - Thx @HymanLab + @PappulabWashU Phillips Hartl Lemke @SimonAlberti1@dacolon @J_Rodenfels Dai + others
We & @PoLDresden are happy to host the "Physical Biology of the Cell" course by Rob Philipps @Caltech once again! This multidisciplinary, 5-day event leverages a use of quantitative thinking to query the nature of the living. Instructors: @AIDuarte10@jkondev & @kianfaizi
New Season 🍂🌿 - new #CDCODE release!
🥳Version 1.07 is here: https://t.co/CN4je5FqWH
🌟We focused on improving #species attributions and updating missing #condensate features.

“When it was time to consider how to distribute the extremely generous contributions that were made in her memory, it quickly became clear that it should be donated to the EMBL Kinderhaus, of which she had such lovely memories,”
After an EMBL scientist’s death, family & friends raised funds for a Kinderhaus playground, providing a joyous memorial.
Read about that unique token of remembrance for scientist, mother, & more, Suzanne Eaton, in our 8th Moment of Philanthropy. #EMBL50

Five years ago we lost Suzanne @eaton_lab
The little memorial garden @mpicbg is now in full bloom, Suzanne would have loved it.
She will always stay in our hearts!
'Biology is physics & Chemistry...'
How @mpicbg & @mpi_pks developed their inter/ multidisciplinary research, the origin story. Listen to #mattertolife fellows @HymanLab & Frank Jülicher underline the importance of different disciplines coming together.
One of the major changes at our @maxplanckpress annual meeting was the introduction of a symposium where our group leaders presented their work. Thanks to all who participated and to @HymanLab@DietmarHarhoff and the team of Kerstin Dübner-Gee!
🏃♂️🏃♀️🎉 Congrats to 45 runners in 11 teams from @mpicbg & @mpi_pks! They showed their team spirit in the #REWETeamChallenge. Members from @hymanlab@rita_d_mateus@tablerlab groups, services & admin conquered the 5K run in the heart of Dresden. https://t.co/mJNtK44b46
