Would you believe me if I told you that the image below is of a Petrol Station in #Gauteng!? 🤯🤯🤯

This beautifully designed fill-up stop has a shop called The Pantry. You can get all of your usual essentials such as soap, toothpaste etc here, however, you can also get artisan pastries and notable wines too. They define themselves as the hybrid model of a petrol station, supermarket, deli, take-away and retail store.

Some quick facts about the classiest petrol station convenience store that I have ever seen:

The group behind this unique petrol station offering is the Marble Restaurant Group. Famous for their stylish Johannesburg restaurants Marble and Saint, they plan on opening their first ever Marble restaurant in Cape Town later this year. The new restaurant will seat 220 guests in an 800m2 retail space situated at the V&A Waterfront. Their space will offer sea and mountain views, and also includes a glass-walled rooftop area.

I think the concept of the Pantry is innovative and good-looking. Petrol stations are essential stops for all those on the move with a car (and those looking for padkos). I have a feeling that many will make this specific stop a destination of choice when it comes to getting gas. I love that this smart look and feel serves both higher and lower LSM groups. This would do very well in Cape Town. My focus areas of choice for this retail offering would be Southern Suburbs, Blouberg, Atlantic Seaboard and certain parts of the Winelands.
