@interstatejuche The craziest thing about mormonism isnt even how obviously fake the whole thing is (its even worse than islam in that regard), its how many people fall for it anyway.
Truly blackpilling that there are any mormons at all.
@BovrilG@saveusculture Or that he was in jail awaiting trial because he burned down a printing press that was about to publish an expose on him sleeping around
@interstatejuche@saveusculture I think my favourite Joseph Smith moment is his last words being half of the Masonic Call of Distress because he wasn’t quite as confident that Moroni would get him out of the situation as he ought to have been.
Remember when Joseph Smith wrote the "book of abraham" from some egyptian papyrus and when actual Egyptologists got their hands on the papyrus they discovered it only contained basic funerary rites?
A scientist in 500 BC would not be able to articulate germ theory.
Today, every real scientist can
Similarly, a Christian in 33 AD would not articulate Christ as "consubstantial with the Father"
But today, if you don't do that, you're not a Christian
Here we have two Protestants, both affirming Sola Scriptura, both reading the same verse, and both arriving at contradictory conclusions.
Protestants often tell us that Scripture alone is a clear and sufficient rule of faith.
So let’s observe how Sola Scriptura brings clarity and unity to the Christian faith.
Which interpretation is the Holy Spirit teaching here? 🤔
@RogueCenturion They realized it was easier to convince modern Christians to convert if they were treated as just another denomination. It’s deception to gain more followers
@RogueCenturion Their faith is losing legitimacy. They're shedding followers. [see: loosening dress code for temple garb, the most sacred dress and regulation around "hot drinks"] It will get worse when it comes out that they're embedded in the mili-industrial complex and zionism.
@fash_bandicoot They’ve been trying to rehab their identity for two decades. They want to distance themselves from the term Mormon because too many people know what they believe and it makes it hard to get people in their cult.
The strangest thing about this insistence by LDS to be considered Christian is new. Originally under Smith and Brigham Young Mormons did not wanted to be associated with us. I don’t know when the switch occurred, but it is a little silly.
Mormonism is fundamentally no different from a Chinese apotheosis harem story involving a sacred manual (gold plates) that give special knowledge to the protagonist to ascend to godhood.
